Bento – My first

Pull up a chair. Take a taste. Come join us. Life is so endlessly delicious.

As a kid from 90’s where the time tv anime series hit our television, I’ve been fascinated by the anime characters with the way they prepare their picnic food and school lunch box such a beautiful arrangement and looks yummy.

Those times where online marketing is not yet within our hands, actually I did not know what it calls that time. But now what things you cannot find online even love (nyahahaha just kidding)

The urge to know how to prepare this kind of meal became strong when we have our 1st student (weeeeeee), I can only afford is the tusok tusok way (food picks), which our student loves so much that he is able to eat everything.

Okay after that introduction what is Bento anyway, Do you believe Bento as per cotoacademy is merely a quickly prepared meal for busy people. The word bento (弁当), imported from Chinese, means the “useful thing”, “convenient” and has a double meaning, standing for both the container and the content. Hmmm… I’m thinking how is that happen? I think in our modern time preparing bento requires a lot of effort. Well….

How I was able to make my first bento meal? One day while browsing the Facebook, I’ve seen this post about bento workshop and I’m so lucky that it just near our home. Yeh! This is really for me. I invited my sister and we registered for the workshop.

This is it I’m so excited our bento workshop day.

Everything seems overwhelming but our instructor, Jen of Imbentonijen, is very nice and encourages us to personalize our bento meal. Our workshop is really from scratch, molding rice, cutting veggies, cheese, nuggets, bread and a lot more.

At the end of the workshop, we have both a rice meal and bread meal bento.

Kawai!

Right now I’m still looking for bento supplies and tools to make another one, and of course time, haha, WAHM has a lot of loads.

Thank you, Ms. Jen, and to my sister.
